During our lives we have 2 different types of teeth – baby teeth and adult teeth. Our baby teeth, as they are commonly called, are referred to as our primary teeth, because they come in first. These primary teeth begin erupting from the gum line between the ages of 4 and 18 months. The time when these baby teeth are coming in is called teething. By age 3, most children will have all of their baby teeth in place. At the age of 6 or so children’s baby teeth begin to fall out and are replaced by adult teeth, or permanent teeth as they are also known.
