Noise induced hearing loss affects thousands of workers in the U.S. every year. On average, 4 million people are exposed to noise capable of damaging their hearing on a daily basis in the United States. Approximately 10 million people in the U.S. now have noise related hearing loss because of their work. In fact, according to OSHA 14% of cases of “occupational illness” are because of the damaging workplace noise that causes hearing loss. These people are not alone. Nearly 5% of the world’s population suffers from disabling hearing loss, ranging from mild to severe
